This Friday, June 26th, the Rockhal welcomed a phenomenon from Korea: THE ROSE. For the very first time, the four members of the group stopped in Luxembourg as part of their European tour. We had the chance to attend this event, to meet the crowd, and to party under a shower of star-shaped confetti.

The concert begins in an intimate atmosphere. Bathed in the glow of official lightsticks, the audience joins in on the opening ballads, which resonate beautifully thanks to the magical voices of the two lead singers. Very quickly, it becomes clear that THE ROSE has mastered the art of crafting anthems — melodies that bring people together and touch the soul. Each song opens a window into our own emotions, fragments of our lives, as if their music has the power to capture the universal through the deeply personal.

From the very first minutes, the tone is set. The band had warned us: “Even if you didn’t come for us, even if you don’t know us… by the time you leave, you’ll love us.” And they were right — the magic worked instantly!

While THE ROSE is known for hits like “Come Back to Me,” their universe goes far beyond that. Beneath a soft, chill exterior, their music is incredibly rich, deep, and above all, sincere. The stage design, resembling a cozy apartment, sets the tone: no pretenses here. This is a night among friends, a laid-back evening filled with good vibes.

A space to talk, to share, to reimagine the world. In a touching moment with the audience, the lead singer reflects on what binds them together: a shared passion for music, born on the streets of Hongdae — their home neighborhood in Seoul — which has carried them to the world’s biggest stages, from Coachella to Europe.

Then, suddenly, rock takes over. Guitars ignite, the bass pulses, the drums go wild. A party breaks out in the venue, set against a stellar backdrop. We sing, dance, jump with them. Every track is a journey — a celebration of our connections, our doubts, and the vulnerability that comes with being human… or being an artist.

In this warm and slightly quirky spirit, an inflatable pizza-shaped mattress makes its way across the stage… and then into the crowd! The snare drum cracks, Dojoon attempts a stunt and falls, all to the laughter of the audience and his bandmates. It’s proof that THE ROSE knows how to break down walls, create closeness, and turn music into a space for sharing. There’s no hierarchy here — we’re here for them, and they’re here for us. It’s beautiful and powerful. And language isn’t a barrier: the members speak freely in English, tell jokes, gently tease the crowd, and over the course of the night, build a genuine dialogue.

THE ROSE feels like the friends you wish you had : smart, sweet, funny, bold, and damn good-looking — four unique sensibilities, carried by equally expressive instruments. Everything is embodied. Everything is felt.

Their strength lies in their unity. Their impact comes from their sincerity. Their melodies move through us, their harmony stirs us, and we leave with the feeling of having experienced something rare: a moment of pure authenticity.

So if you don’t know THE ROSE yet, it’s time to start listening and follow their journey. Because a band like this doesn’t just move across the world’s stages — they move through hearts.
